looking cute wouldn't matter so much...
having a lot of money would mean nothing...
having a great job would be meaningless...
keeping a cute house wouldn't be on the top of our lists...
shopping would seem stupid...
driving a great car would be worthless...
what would matter?
KNOWING God might actually be of importance to us...
having an actual relationship with God might come before everything else in our lives...
reading His word would never be left undone...
serving others might finally take priority over serving ourselves...
taking time to love the unlovely would matter more then ever...
eternity would finally be a perspective that we would actually live by...
Oh, such a perspective we must strive to have!
ReplyDeleteI love this post and what you wrote. It is so true. Between the media and the billboards and the magazines bombarding our minds it is hard to stay focused. It's hard in this world, but we must keep at it until the end!
ReplyDeleteI love this, Thank you for the reminder!

So true! I wish stuff like this was easier to remember. Silly things that don't matter are hard to get out of your head...but it's so worth it if you can. :)

ReplyDeleteThat's the truth, Bethany. Thanks for reminding us all.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I just read the story of how you guys met, and had to comment. It is so incredibly sweet that you two grew up together, and are now going to grow old together. So beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSuch an awesome reminder! Thanks for posting this =D
ReplyDeleteYES YES YES. I love this. This is one reminder I need to hear all the time.
ReplyDelete"each one of these people of faith died not yet having in hand what was promised, but still believing. how did they do it? they saw it way off in the distance, waved their greeting, and accepted the fact that they were transients in this world. people who live this way make it plain that they are looking for their true home" (Hebrews 11:13-14, The Message version)
