Three little blessings

Our first few weeks in Naples,
we didn't have a job
or a place to live

SO.... we decided to buy a tent and go stay at a state park/campground
{it's the place to be if you don't have much money or a place to live}

Our time at the campground was fun,
but hard. Really hard
We were both worried sick about finding a job,
& we were scared about the future

we spent our days at McDonald's using their Wi-fi, frantically searching for jobs & a place to live,
and our nights were spent in a tent under a starry sky

During that time, many tears were shed
And several hours were spent reading the Word and praying

We actually had to trust the promises in Matthew 6:
"Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?"
"But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."
{How incredibly comforting are these verses?!}

Everything in those few weeks that could have gone wrong... did.
At times, it felt like God was no where around

But, in our darkest moment God WAS there:
He sent us three little blessings

They were from the campsite behind ours
Three beautiful little boys, they were brothers
They just came to us, actually God SENT them to us
They became our friends, when we had none
They didn't know everything that we were going through
But they didn't have to
They loved us, we loved them
That was all we needed

It was amazing how such a strong bond was formed between all of us in such a short amount of time-
It was beautiful

These boys brought us SO much joy during such a hard time
The Lord provided!
When they were with us, our problems didn't really seem to matter anymore

It was SO hard when it was time for us to leave each other
The littlest one cried so much , as did I as we drove off
Our hearts felt so sad to see them go, we loved them.

But, our hearts felt SO blessed

I thank God for these three little blessings often, they will forever stay in our hearts
How incredible that God cared enough about us to send 3 kiddo-s that showed us love when we needed it most!

I love you, boys!

  1. Wow. You guys lived in a tent?!?!?! Wow. I can't imagine how greatly you felt tested. Being out of a job is one of th most horrible feelings in the world. After graduation is was SO HARD for me to find a job in the town where Jonathan and I were going to live. Still, God is there through all of that stuff! I'm thankful for that!

  2. Wow, a tent! What an adventure for ya'll! I feel like our generation is so caught up in material things, and that this would be eye-opening for anyone. The truth is, we have all we need in God. He will provide for us anything we need.

  4. I am in love with your blog!! It is adorable, and I absolutely love the way you write. I love that passage of scripture. My pastor spoke on that last Sunday, and I loved being reminded of it while I was reading your blog. God really is the King of provision, and I am so happy that he sent you those little boys.
I'm looking forward to future posts!!
